“The distress of adivasis can be used by people who believe that they can bring about change through violence. The distress of the adivasis needs to be addressed so that people who believe in violence cannot move in. You can isolate them (Maoists) only by solving the problems of advisasis and by protecting their life and the culture,” says land activist PV Rajagopal.

This interview has been done by Jonathan Wolf when Rajagopal stayed in Köln some time ago. He speaks about youth eduction and non-violent training methods, and the purpose of it.

PV Rajagopal gives a 5 minutes assessment on today's meetings around Jan Satyagraha and the process of the agreement signed in October 2012.

"Our agenda is to ensure restoration, regularisation, redistribution and protection of land. Government had signed a pact with us promising to fulfil some of our demands within six months of time. Some demands have been met but a few remain untouched," says PV Rajagopal.
