Ramesh tells states to speed up land reform measures

Article in the Economic Times, April 9th

NEW DELHI: Rural development minister JairamRamesh has urged the state governments to improve and expedite existing land reform measures to address the needs of the poor and landless, a tacit recognition that the proposed central legislation providing landless families a small parcel of land for shelter and subsistence is unlikely to go down well with the states.
