The opening of the Jan Satyagraha 2015 was started with a speech by anti-corruption-campaigner Anna Hazare along with farmers from nine states against the governmental Land Acquisition Ordinance. One of the main issues is that in the year 2013 the Congress and BJP brought the Land Acquisition Bill to action: " According to that bill, if any industrialist wants to acquire a farmer's land, then 70 percent of people's consent is essential; until then the land cannot be acquired. The new government has deleted this provision. Is this democracy? Then what is the difference between the Congress and your governance," Hazare said.
Anti-Graft Crusader Anna Hazare flagged off the padyatra against the Land Acquisition Ordinance at the Gandhi Ashram in Palwal. The first day of the footmarch started with numerous participants of organizations and politicians who want to put pressure on the government against the Land Acquisition Bill to withdraw this Ordinance. The event was covered by many media representatives who were also following the speech of Ekta Parishad´s leader Rajagopal PV.
More than 50 organizations and several activists and politicians assembled in this historic event. 5000 tribals, adivasi and dalits will walk from today until the 24th of February to the house of parliament in Delhi. After the speech of several other activist and politicians the footmarch started today from Palwal to Delhi.
